Worship

One of the primary ways we glorify God is through our worship of God. Worship is the proper response of discipleship. It is making much of God and little of ourselves. We worship God by:
  • Gathering with other believers (Hebrews 10:24-25; Acts 20:7; Romans 12:4-5)
  • Believe and declare the revelation of God's word (2 Timothy 3:16-17; Psalm 33:4; John 14:26)
  • Acts of praise and repentance (Colossians 3:16; 1 John 1:9; Ephesians 5:19; 1 John 1:18)
  • With our daily life (Romans 12:1; Luke 4:8; 1 Corinthians 10:31)

Love

Love is at the core of everything the church does. Jesus gives his people two commands that speaks to the importance of love as a disciple. Love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. He then says to love our neighbor as ourself. When we love God we respond in worship, and when we love our neighbor we engage in the mission Jesus has given his Church by living a generous life for the good of others.
  • Love God and love others (Mark 12:29-31; John 13:34)
  • Live a generous life (Romans 12:1-2; 2 Corinthians 9:6-8; Hebrews 13:16)
  • For the good of others (Galatians 6:2; Hebrews 13:16; Romans 12:13)

Discipleship

Discipleship is the mission of the Church, and part of the mission of God. Disciples of Jesus worship God, love Him, and love others. They spend time with God through His word (the Bible) and prayer, they serve with spiritual gifts, grow in fruit of the Spirit, and make other disciples. Since discipleship is the mission of the church it takes place locally, regionally, and globally.
  • Spend time with God in His word and in prayer (Mark 13:11; Romans 10:17; Philippians 4:6; 2 Peter 1:3-9)
  • Serve with Spiritual Gifts & growing in Fruit of The Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:1-11; Galatians 5:22-23; Romans 8:1-11)
  • Make other disciples (Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:15; Romans 10:14-15; Ephesians 5:22-23)
